A recent perception study, combined with a leadership transition, highlighted an opportunity for Linamar to improve its earnings communications.

Linda Hasenfratz, Linamar’s Executive Chair, addressed this directly as she opened the Q3 2024 earnings call:

The Solution: Shorter, More Focused, and Clearer Earnings Communications

Narrative Enhancements:

We started by rethinking the purpose, and designed the agenda accordingly. Leveraging our earnings framework and insights from the perception study, we simplified the structure to ensure a logical, straightforward narrative. Clear roles for the Executive Chair, CEO, and CFO eliminated redundancy while ensuring key messages were delivered effectively.

Content Enhancements:

The Linamar IR team led the charge in streamlining the presentation content, starting with a thorough evaluation to identify the most critical information and insights to highlight. They cut unnecessary details, eliminated repetition, and simplified what remained, ensuring the content was sharp and focused.

OUTKREATE consulted with them early in the process and helped turn their vision into reality by translating their refined content into clear, visual slides.  This collaboration reduced the deck from 25+ slides to just 15 highly focused “money slides,” delivering the essential messages analysts and investors needed most.

Design Enhancements:

We gave Linamar’s earnings deck a fresh, modern design that brought new life to their materials. Clean fonts, strategic use of brand colors, dynamic imagery, and advanced data visualization techniques elevated the presentation into a polished and professional tool.

By simplifying slide content, we helped presenters move away from reading off slides, empowering them to deliver compelling voiceovers instead. The enhanced presentation made complex information easier to grasp while keeping it engaging and visually appealing.

The Results

Prepared remarks were reduced to 23 minutes—about 30% shorter than the average of the last three calls—thanks to a streamlined agenda and focused slide content. This concise approach made Linamar’s call and materials more engaging and effective for its audience.
