If an Investor Day is on your calendar in the next 6-12 months, this is about when the storytelling work starts. Below is a collection of articles, examples, and case studies from our work and research that may be useful as you shape the story, build the agenda, and think through the I-Day presentation.

I. Start With Your Main Message, Then Build the Agenda Around It

Your main message is the first thing to get right for your Investor Day. Everything else, from the agenda and slides to the event format, should flow from that one clear main message: the three to five key takeaways you want investors to leave with.

We share a simple framework to get there: know your I-Day why, close perception gaps, and play offense with your own point of view. [More on this: Crafting Your Main Message]

Above: is a simple framework for building your main message from three inputs. Treat it as a starting point and adapt it to fit your story.

With the main message set, building an agenda that reinforces it comes next. The best agendas go beyond slides, with formats like expert panels, customer conversations, and product showcases that make the story more memorable. [More on this: Crafting Your Agenda]

II. Hershey’s 2026 Investor Day: Bringing a Bold Strategy to Life

Hershey’s 2026 Investor Day brought together five presenters, three breakout sessions, and a new strategy under one connected story. We partnered with their IR team over 10 weeks, from shaping the structure and messaging through design and on-site rehearsal support at the NYSE.

The case study looks at how the presentation came together, including how we turned detailed board materials into a simpler, more visual investor story, connected the messaging across presenters, and carried the same visual system through the main stage and breakout sessions.

I-Days we’ve been a part of: AB InBev’s 2026 Capital Markets Day (presentations on Growth Strategy and BEES, it’s B2B platform for retailers), TE Connectivity, and Sonoco.

III. 5 Ways to Make Your Investor Day More Experiential

Investor Day doesn’t have to be slide after slide (heard of “death by slides,” anyone?). The strongest events mix in formats that give investors a different way into the story.

That might mean expert panels that build market credibility, customer conversations that validate your value proposition, product showcases that make the business tangible, facility tours that bring operations to life, or breakout sessions that give analysts access to leaders beyond the C-suite.

We break down when each format works, with real-world I-Day examples.

If Your Investor Day Is 3+ Months Out, There's a Low-Risk Way to Get Started

If you’re still in the early stages of planning, our Investor Day Jumpstart is a good way to test drive working with us. We take a handful of your current slides and rework the messaging, data visualization, and design to give you a preview of what the full presentation could look like.

The deliverable is fully usable and edit-friendly, so even if you decide to build the rest internally, you walk away with something you can use. And if you do move forward with us on the full Investor Day, we waive the Jumpstart fee entirely.

Missed our NIRI 2026 session?

At NIRI 2026, we ran a working session on building a one-page investment thesis and using it to structure your full investor presentation. We built one live for an IRO in the room, and she rated it 8 out of 10. If you couldn’t make it, the offer still stands. Book a 30-minute call with me and we’ll build your investor presentation outline live.
